17.09.2026

Christina Mitrentse participates in the group exhibition ‘No Blue No Future’ at the Athens Municipal Art Gallery, curated by Dr Nina Fragopoulou, a marine biologist and curator.

The exhibition creates a meeting point between contemporary art and marine ecology, highlighting the sea as a field of observation, research and artistic exploration. Nineteen established contemporary artists engaged with environmental concerns, together with a marine biologist, underwater photographer and filmmaker, are shaping a polyphonic dialogue in which aesthetic experience and scientific documentation complement one another.

The exhibition is on view from September 18 to October 18, 2026.

Anna Ampariotou participates in the group exhibition Synastry at the National Library of Greece

15.09.2026

Anna Ampariotou participates in the group exhibition ‘Synastry’ at the National Library of Greece, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, curated by Kostas Prapoglou, with her work ‘Duality’.

The exhibition takes as its starting point the human need to connect distant points, to recognise forms within the unknown and to attribute meaning to that which transcends immediate understanding. As the curator notes, the concept of ‘synastry’ is broadened here into a way of reading relationships, affinities and unexpected correspondences. The works of the twenty participating artists engage with planets, constellations, mythology, scientific observation, personal experience and collective memory.

The exhibition is on view in the Atrium on the 4th floor of the National Library of Greece from September 16 through October 4, 2026.

RAST LUNA SOL: Panos Charalambous’s new performance at the Translocal Performance Art Festival in Giswil, Switzerland

RAST LUNA SOL: Panos Charalambous’s new performance at the Translocal Performance Art Festival in Giswil, Switzerland
12.09.2026

Panos Charalambous presents his new performance, ‘RAST LUNA SOL’, in Giswil, Switzerland, as part of the Translocal Performance Art Festival 2026 (September 13-14, 2026), a performance art festival held since 1998.

This year’s Translocal Festival theme is the moon, specifically its dual name in Greek: ‘selene’ refers to the moon as a visible celestial body, while ‘fengari’ describes its glow as a surface that reflects the sun’s light. Entitled ‘From Moon to Moon’, the 25th edition of Translocal Performance Art focuses on what unfolds between the body and projection in performance, as well as on what may remain hidden from the naked eye.

The performance ‘RAST LUNA SOL’ forms part of Panos Charalambous’s ongoing research into communities and expressions of folk culture in the Balkan and Mediterranean regions, with an emphasis on ritual and celebratory practices such as food, singing, dancing and funeral rites.

eternal fan by Myrto Xanthopoulou at MOMus – Alex Mylona Museum in Thissio, Athens

eternal fan by Myrto Xanthopoulou at MOMus – Alex Mylona Museum in Thissio, Athens
09.09.2026

Myrto Xanthopoulou presents her solo exhibition ‘eternal fan’ at the MOMus – Alex Mylona Museum in Athens, from 10 September to 25 October 2026. The exhibition is part of the Art Athina 2025 Young Artist Award, with which the artist was honoured.

Language as an expressive medium and tool lies at the heart of the artist’s explorations and experimentation. Myrto Xanthopoulou assembles an idiosyncratic archive of words and expressions, improvised poems and fragmentary sentences that evoke imagined everyday dialogues or elliptical inner monologues, while she is equally fascinated by semantic misunderstandings, puns and linguistic play.

At the same time, she systematically collects all kinds of consumable and construction materials, different types of paper, which she works on using adhesives, acrylics and spray paint, as well as disposable objects from the city, her home and her studio. These used materials—the discarded remnants of everyday life—become, alongside language, the primary “materials” of her compositions. Her compositions emerge through a laborious and time-consuming process that always requires her direct physical engagement.

Drawings, installations and constructions, of medium and large scale, come together to form a narrative within a unified visual environment. The works are almost precariously unsupported, and therein lies their strength: in the need to stand, even within a condition of instability and uncertainty.

The exhibition is presented as part of the programming partnership between the Metropolitan Organisation of Museums of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki (MOMus), the Panhellenic Association of Art Galleries, and Art Athina for the Young Artist Award, with the aim of supporting and promoting the work of emerging contemporary artists.

The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual catalogue, supported by Art Athina.

Curator: Giannis Bolis, Art Historian, Head of the Department of Contemporary Sculpture, MOMus – Alex Mylona Museum
