Margarita Mavromichalis has spent her life living and travelling around the world. She studied photography at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. Her work has been displayed in exhibitions in New York, Boston, San Diego, The Museum of the City of New York, the Brooklyn Historical Society and more recently in Budapest, Athens, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and London. Selected photographs are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of the City of New York and the Brooklyn Historical Society. She is the winner of the 9th Pollux Award (2016) and winner of the Julia Margaret Cameron Award (2018, 2020). She was a finalist at the Miami Street Photography Festival (2018, 2020) and was nominated for the 2019 Prix Pictet Award. Most recently, she was awarded the 2021 silver medal at the Prix de la Photographie, Paris (PX3) annual international competition. She will be participating in the 6th Biennial
of Fine Art and Documentary Photography (Barcelona, December 9, 2021 – January 9, 2022).
